I am proud to announce one of my former cadets, CPT Joe Merrill is running for Mayor of Bingadom, Maine. I always told my cadets that the nation needs good leadership, and they should push to lead anywhere they are, not just in the Army. A few years ago, when the Army captured Saddam Hussien, Joe also appeared on CNN.
Start Joe’s message.
I wanted to send you guys this link to a story the local paper did on me. I put a poll in the field, and am currently waiting on numbers to come back. The story is done well, and is tasteful. The comments on the bottom of the story, well, as you will see are not. I am 90% sure I am going to go ahead with this campaign. One of the problems I am going to have is the fact that I am going up against an incumbent on the Democratic ticket, and he is backed by the far left. The comments left on the bottom of this story are nothing compared to the ones left on another local bulletin board site. I refuse to go on it any more because the few comments I saw enraged me. They were akin to “baby killer”. My point in all this is to see if we could stir up some political activity from vets groups if these comments in the media get really bad, which I’m sure they will. I know you guys have better connections on the higher levels with a lot of these groups. Let me know if any of you think there is anyone who would be interested in this. Hope you are all well! Joe
